In 1770, Andoas was a mission station, and the priest there had long given up Isabel for dead. After Isabel reached here, she was escorted by "Indians"  down the Pastaza to Lagunas, and then, after a period of recuperation, she proceeded down the Amazon to a boat waiting for her in Tabatinga, at the border between the Spanish and Portuguese colonies.
